Founded in 2007, EDWINS offers formerly incarcerated adults training in the culinary and hospitality industry, while providing a support network for long-term success. Since 2018, the Browns have contributed over $500,000 to EDWINS with the goal of strengthening its core programming aimed at supporting the organization's 95 percent employment rate and less than one percent recidivism.

Funding of the EDWINS program assists in:

  • leadership training
  • expansion/creation of both the Butcher Shop and Family Housing
  • curriculum development program for over 450,000 inmates
  • pathway to ownership program: curriculum on everything you need to know to open a restaurant

Over 1,800 formerly incarcerated individuals are graduates of one of the largest educational platforms in prisons across the country that was created by Edwin's. To date, less than 1% of EDWINS graduates have been reincarcerated.
