To support the advancement of technology and research in the sports industry at all levels, we made a $20 million donation to establish a new sports health innovation center in Cleveland.

Our goals are to:

  • improve performance of athletes
  • promote healing
  • reduce the risk of injury
  • enhance the lives of our athletes in the community

From Peewee to Pro, we hope to create stronger, healthier athletes and communities.

The University Hospitals Haslam Sports Innovation Center will be led by James E. Voos, M.D., chair of UH Department of Orthopedic Surgery, president-elect of the NFL Physician's Society and head team physician for the Browns.

The sports medicine program at University Hospitals offers state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, with some of the best clinical leaders and surgeons in the country. Through the Center, we will advance the field of sports medicine by investing in two key areas:

  • Advance and accelerate industry-leading innovations by funding the most promising ideas, start-ups and companies.
  • Enhance national and international thought leadership through expert care, research in our living lab and the education of future leaders.

The UH Sports Innovation Center has invested in a diverse portfolio of companies including performance companies, wearable tech, biologics and surgical equipment.
